Job summary

Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal for our busy Construction Defects department. The role supports attorneys from case inception to resolution, handling arbitration demands, complaints, discovery, hearings, and settlements with strong case management and billable support.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of Litigation Paralegal experience, prefers construction defects exposure, and has trial preparation and billing experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal required.
  • Construction defects experience preferred.
  • Trial preparation experience preferred.
  • Prior experience billing time strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting responses to Demands for Arbitration and Discovery
  • Draft responses to complaints and discovery
  • Prepare materials and documents for hearings
  • File and service circuit court filings
  • Draft settlement agreements, signatures, and fund disbursements
  • Track mediation outcomes, settlements, and tender of payments
  • Request documents from client
  • Assist in preparation of team snapshots for meetingsUpdate claims database
  • Prepare Response to Notices of Claims
  • Prepare Work Authorization Agreements
  • Request copies of inspections and estimates
  • Prepare claim for final hearing
  • Consistently achieve billable hour expectation set by the firm (including approved non-billable time)

Foley & Lardner LLP is looking for a skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal with excellent research and analytical skills for our busy Construction Defects department. The Litigation Paralegal supports the firm’s litigation team by managing critical casework from case inception through resolution, working with attorneys to respond efficiently to arbitration demands, complaints, discovery, hearings, and settlements. This role ensures cases stay organized, deadlines are met, and court filings and client documents are prepared accurately and on time. The position has broad responsibility across case administration, document drafting, court and claims tracking, and settlement coordination, with a particular focus on supporting litigation workflow. By providing strong case management and billable support, the Litigation Paralegal directly contributes to the department’s efficiency, client service, and successful case outcomes.

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.

Miami, Orlando, & Tampa: $77,500- $108,500
