Job summary

At DynaFire, an Installation Technician supports the construction of fire alarm, security, access control, voice/data, and other low voltage systems. You will read blueprints, install detectors, cameras, and door contacts, and coordinate with project leaders to meet deadlines.

This role requires NICET Level I with goal for Level II within 12 months, plus participation in DynaFire training. Opportunities for growth and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of installation experience in the fire alarm industry.
  • NICET Level I certified and maintain certification; Level II within 12 months.
  • Participate in DynaFire sponsored training.
  • May serve as trainer for internal training.
  • Manufacturing training to certify in a DynaFire low voltage system.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints of low voltage systems and how they relate to building layouts.
  • Install components such as smoke detectors, pull stations, cameras, and door contacts.
  • Study work orders, building plans, and manuals to determine materials and procedures with PM/foreman.
  • Meet installation deadlines as described by PM/foreman.
  • Direct other installers when requested by PM/foreman.
  • Communicate effectively with AHJ.

Job description

We are seeking an Installation Technician who is part of the installation pool to support the construction of fire alarm, security, access control, voice/data, and any other low voltage systems that DynaFire provides their customers. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and reliable.

  • Read blueprints of low voltage systems and how related to the layout of a building.
  • Install the components that make up the low voltage systems such as smoke detectors, pull stations, video cameras, door contacts, etc.
  • Install installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures under the supervision of a project manager or foreman.
  • Meet installation deadlines as described by the project manager or foreman.
  • Able to direct other installers if requested by project manager or foreman.
  • Communicate effectively with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
Relationships and Roles:
  • Memorize and apply the DynaFire 8 Core Values and Mission Statement.
  • To fully understand that position is very important in assisting the successful delivery of a DynaFire system for our customers.
Training and Certification Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of installation experience in the fire alarm industry.
  • Be NICET Level I certified and maintain certification. Attain NICET Level II within 12 months.
  • Participate in required DynaFire sponsored training.
  • May be requested to share in serving as a trainer in the DynaFire sponsored training.
  • Consider going to manufacturing training to become certified in a DynaFire low voltage system.
