Job summary

Amrize is seeking an experienced Cement Technician to join our North America operations. The role covers operation, housekeeping and industrial maintenance of the cement plant, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will perform inspections, repairs and preventive maintenance to keep plant equipment running smoothly, while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy industrial manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and are comfortable

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ideal candidates would have a high mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a team based environment.
• Prior experience in Mechanical Maintenance or Industrial Maintenance required.
• Must adhere to safety protocols and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair cement plant equipment.
• Perform walk-by inspections and checklists on operating process plant.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance including rigging, welding, lubrication, and basic electrical repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment during operation and mechanical breakdowns.
• Maintain documentation and plan work with the team.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The experienced Industrial Technician position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the operation, housekeeping and industrial maintenance of the cement plant.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to: Assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing proper PPE
• Perform walk-by inspections & checklists on operating process plant
• Perform industrial maintenance activities (Example: rigging, cutting, welding, fitting, lubrication, alignments, basic low voltage electrical repairs, hydraulics, and pneumatics).
• Make repairs, installations and replacements on a wide variety of equipment.
• Operate light and medium sized plant mobile equipment
• Troubleshoot and optimize equipment during operation and mechanical breakdowns; mechanical maintenance.
• Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities
• Other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Required Work Experience: 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment

Additional Requirements

• Required to work outside, at heights, warm temperatures, and at times around and over water, in dusty environments and confined spaces.
• Must be able to work any shift as required.
• Ideal candidates would have a high mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a team based environment.
• Prior experience in Mechanical Maintenance or Industrial Maintenance required
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
