Job Type: Full-Time (40 hrs/week | No Remote | No Overtime)

About Us

G&A Fire Protection Corp. was established in 1991, and over the decades we have built our reputation by performing at the highest professional level in our industry. We pride ourselves on delivering top-tier fire protection design and engineering solutions across residential, commercial, and high-rise developments.

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time, in-house Fire Sprinkler Engineer capable of taking system designs from initial concept all the way through city approval and field execution.

Working directly alongside our internal engineering team, developers, and general contractors, you will lead hydraulic calculations, detail coordination, and submittals for projects ranging from single-family homes to complex commercial high-rises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-Scope System Design: Design fire sprinkler and standpipe systems across a wide range of project types, including single-family residential, commercial, and multi-story high-rise developments.
  • Calculations & Code Compliance: Perform detailed hydraulic calculations, generate fabrication drawings, and ensure full compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local building/fire codes.
  • Permitting & City Submittals: Prepare, submit, and track plan packages through local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and city departments until approval.
  • Cross-Trade & Field Coordination: Collaborate directly with General Contractors (GCs), developers, architects, and trade partners to resolve field clashes and coordinate routing.
  • Teamwork: Work full-time (40 hrs/week) on-site alongside our internal engineering and design staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven Experience First: We value real-world experience, design skills, and quality final products above all. Formal certifications are a plus, but not required if you have a solid track record of successful projects.
  • Software: Experience with AutoCAD and HydraCAD is preferred. However, if you are a quick learner with strong design fundamentals, we are willing to train the right candidate on our specific CAD software stack.
  • Code Expertise: In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local jurisdiction approval processes.
  • Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with city officials, GCs, and project teams.
  • Work Arrangement: 100% in-house, on-site position (40 hours/week). No remote work and no overtime expectations—just a reliable, balanced 40-hour schedule.
  • Assessment: Candidates will undergo a practical skills test during the interview process to evaluate design proficiency and code application.
  • Competitive base salary based on experience (80k-120k Yearly)
  • Paid Time Off: Paid holidays + paid sick leave
  • Stable, strictly 40-hour work week in a supportive in-house environment
