Kleinfelder, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a Highway Engineer in Mechanicsburg, PA to design and deliver transportation projects. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team on roadways, intersections, and interchanges, performing detailed design, analyses, and preparation of construction documents.

A BSCE from ABET-accredited program and 6+ years of highway design experience are required; PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 6+ years of experience in highway and transportation design.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with roadway, intersection, and interchange projects.
• PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission design experience preferred.
• Proficiency in design and plan preparation using MicroStation and related software.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local jurisdiction permitting regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsabilités

• Project Design and Execution: Perform detailed design work for highway and transportation projects, including intersections, road widenings, interchanges, and smaller enhancements.
• Technical Development: Prepare engineering documents for project advertisements and construction, ensuring compliance with applicable design criteria and regulatory standards
• Engineering Analysis: Conduct design calculations, technical analysis, and produce project specifications for transportation infrastructure.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, clients, and sub-consultants to ensure design alignment and compliance with project requirements.
• Budgeting and Scheduling: Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and schedule tracking to support project efficiency and financial management.
• Site Assessments: Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and ensure design accuracy, providing technical support throughout the construction phase.
• Construction Support: Address design-related questions or issues that arise during project execution, ensuring smooth implementation of engineering plans.
• Client Interaction: Travel occasionally to project or client sites for meetings, site assessments, and project-related tasks.
