Job summary

WM is seeking an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator at our Elgin, SC site. This role offers stable hours, competitive benefits including healthcare, 401(k) matching, and education assistance, with a starting pay of $23 per hour depending on experience.

The position runs Monday–Friday 7:30am–6:30pm, with every other weekend 5am–2pm, at our waste disposal site. Safety is a priority, and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Must be over 18 and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• 3+ years of dozer, excavator, compactor or dump truck experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; maintains records.
• Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with material moving equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What do you need to be considered for the role of Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator?

• 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.

• Be over 18 years of age.

• Legally eligible to work in the United States

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

• 3+ years of dozer, excavator, compactor or dump truck experience preferred.

Work environment and physical demands:

• Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.

• Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
