Job description

Job Summary: Deliver outstanding customer service to pet owners by executing style requests, communicating clearly and honestly, and bringing a positive attitude. Provide exemplary cosmetic care for pets, being gentle and patient with anxious and difficult animals. Protect the best interests of our customers and their pets, notifying owners of any concerns, including skin abnormalities, ear infections, ticks, and fleas.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Manage appointments.
2. Clean and freshen pet hair by washing, shampooing, and conditioning it.
3. Shave, trim, and style pet hair according to the owner’s preferences.
4. Maintain overall pet hygiene by clipping nails, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears.
5. Maintain a clean workstation by sanitizing and sweeping.
6. Advise owners on at-home care tips and best practices for their pets.
7. Conduct yourself in a manner that is in the best interest of clients and PUPS team members by representing PUPS in a professional and positive manner.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Strong dog grooming skills and prior experience preferred.
3. Professional certification preferred.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. A love for dogs.
6. Patient and enthusiastic.

Physical Requirements:

1. Stand for long periods of time.
2. Kneel, bend, or twist their body.
3. Must be able to safely lift dogs of up to 50 pounds at times.
