Job summary

Dwayne Lane is seeking an experienced GM technician to join a close team and contribute to keeping vehicles in top condition. You will diagnose issues, repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspensions, and guide customers on maintenance decisions.

Ideal candidates have dealership experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and hands-on use of diagnostics tools. ADAS calibration and wheel alignment familiarity are preferred for high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • Proven dealership experience or equivalent service technician experience in a fast-paced automotive environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle makes and models, including GM vehicles and diesel engines.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and tools for troubleshooting electrical systems and powertrain issues.
  • Familiarity with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment equipment, and auto estimating software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of transmissions, diesel engine repair, welding techniques, and general vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
  • Repair and maintain vehicles by replacing or repairing mechanical components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic systems, including ADAS and automotive electrical systems.
  • Conduct wheel alignments, wheel balancing, and other precision tasks to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines for vehicle maintenance schedules and repair procedures to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Communicate effectively with customers about repair needs, estimated timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of transmissions, diesel engine repair, welding techniques, and general vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
