Job summary

RTI International is seeking individuals to support data collection tasks, including administering questionnaires and handling project materials in the field. You will travel within designated areas, use RTI-issued tablets and laptops, and participate in training sessions to ensure accurate data collection.

This role requires strong English communication, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors and after dark.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Effective communication in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Available for the entire training and data collection period.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for business use.
  • Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other equipment.
  • Able to keep project information confidential.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
  • Previous NSFG data collection experience as a Lister.

Responsibilities

  • Collect confidential information and administer standardized questionnaires.
  • Independently manage administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings.
  • Assume full and legal responsibility for use and care of project issued equipment.
  • Safeguard any participant incentives, issued equipment, or project materials against damage, loss, or theft.
  • Assume responsibility for and carefully tracking all participant incentives.
  • Submitting timely and accurate Time and Expense reports.
  • Attending virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team.
  • Listing addresses electronically on a tablet (provided by RTI), in selected areas.
  • Traveling to selected areas within the area using a tablet and electronic map.
  • Accurately identifying and recording address and location information on a tablet about each potential dwelling unit.
  • Editing completed work, and reporting the results of all activities.
  • Successfully completing all components of training, including online courses and attendance at a virtual training.

Job description

The pay rate for this position is $ 18 /hour. Hourly wage is based on experience and geographical location.

External Description

This position is responsible for:

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Must possess High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
  • Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
  • Available for entire training and data collection period
  • Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
  • Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment
  • Access to password protected WiFi connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities
  • Able to keep project information confidential
  • Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark
  • Previous Experience working on NSFG as a Lister
Preferred Qualifications for Ideal Candidates
  • Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoys interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines
  • Computer skills, namely email and internet proficiency
  • Able to read and follow electronic maps
  • Must have a computer or laptop for completing online training and regularly checking RTI email for project communications
  • Available for overnight travel
Work Schedule
  • The data collection period is expected to be 10/1/26 through 2/1/27
  • On average, you will be needed approximately 15hours per week when work is available.
  • On average, you should be available to work in the field 2 days each week.
  • The majority of this work is anticipated during weekdays during daytime hours
  • Each of your trips to the field are expected to be at least 6hours long
  • Successfully pass project required trainings
  • Attendance at all trainings is mandatory
