Job summary

Unitec Elevator NYC is seeking an experienced Elevator Maintenance Mechanic in Long Island City, NY. This full-time role offers an hourly wage of $60.59 and requires a valid NYS & NYC mechanics license, plus apprenticeship or technical school training in elevator repair.

Responsibilities include inspecting various elevators, diagnosing faults, installing and repairing equipment, handling emergencies, maintaining records, and delivering excellent customer service to building owners and occupants.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NYS & NYC Mechanics License.
• Minimum 5 years experience in elevator repair and maintenance.
• Completion of an apprenticeship or technical school in elevator repair.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect elevators, diagnose faults, perform repairs and adjustments.
• Diagnose deficiencies and recommend changes or requirements.
• Install, maintain and repair elevators, escalators and lifting equipment.
• Analyze failures and respond to emergencies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and replace defective parts.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper operation.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair calls.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
• Provide excellent customer service to building owners and occupants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
