Black Bear Lock & Security is expanding our electrical services and is looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands‑on field position for someone who knows electrical work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and wants to continue developing their skills with a growing local company.

About the Position

This position will start as-needed/part-time, with the potential to grow into additional hours as our electrical service grows. You will primarily perform residential and small commercial electrical service and installation work throughout Western North Carolina, including Buncombe, Macon, Jackson, and Haywood Counties.

Typical projects may include:

• Electrical panel work and upgrades
• Breaker replacement
• Conductor replacement and sizing changes
• Dedicated circuit installations
• Electrical equipment connections
• Branch circuit modifications
• Troubleshooting and repairs
• Reading electrical diagrams, plans, and equipment specifications
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Documenting completed work and job information

A helper will be available on many jobs initially. As you become familiar with our company, procedures, and customers, there will be opportunities to perform service calls more independently.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on electrical experience
• Strong understanding of electrical installation practices and safety
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify electrical problems
• Ability to safely perform electrical work with limited supervision
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams
• Own basic electrical hand tools
• Reliable personal vehicle for travel to job sites
• Dependable and professional
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable using an iPad or smartphone for work orders, communication, and job documentation
• Willingness to learn and follow company procedures
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
• Valid driver's license
• Must pass a background check

Preferred:

• Residential or commercial service experience

An electrical license is not required for this position.
