Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Diffusion/Implant Chamber Equipment Engineer to support RTP and DPN chambers on AMAT Vantage and Centura platforms. You will help maintain anneal chambers, drive improvements in quality, efficiency and defect reduction, while ensuring safety and continuous learning in a 24/7 fab environment.

You should have a BS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in semiconductor operations, plus experience with 300mm diffusion/implant

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor experience.
• 300mm Diffusion/Implant Anneal experience preferred.
• Familiarity with AMAT Centura and Vantage platforms and RF systems desired.
• Experience with 300mm RTP and DPN equipment management.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and able to interpret engineering specs.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

This position is for a Diffusion/Implant Chamber Equipment Engineer that will support RTP and DPN chambers on AMAT Vantage and Centura Platforms. In this job, you will be a part of a team that focuses on maintaining basic condition and stable processing of state of the art anneal chambers while driving improvements related to quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. We prioritize safety, learning, and having fun while maintaining world class operations 24/7.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Practice 6S in the office and fab. Hold safety as the number 1 priority. Look for opportunities to reduce safety risks in all procedures and daily operations.
• Have flexibility in daily work schedule. Assist all technicians with daily workload and sustaining activities in the fab when necessary. This includes direct participation in tool maintenance as needed.
• Develop and schedule recovery plans for known abnormalities and long tool downs. Assist the Shift Supervisors in prioritizing work activity to align with real time business needs.
• Document daily tool activities and ensure learning is captured and spread across the entire organization via our communication systems.
• Follow, improve, and develop work documents such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), recovery plans, task plans, part lists, troubleshooting guides, business process flows, etc. to drive operational efficiency improvements.
• Maintain all required trainings, certifications, and medical monitoring up to date.
• Manage and collaborate with vendor support. Align goals, develop a relationship of trust and reliability, coordinate tool work schedules, and develop system improvements.
• Develop project ideas and own spread of shared Best Known Methods for cost reduction, particle reduction, tool down time reduction, part lifetime extension, and efficiency improvements.
• Interact and collaborate with other departments on a range of projects, from improving device performance, finding solutions to process abnormalities, and performing risk mitigation of excursions.
• Utilize Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts and LEAN tools to implement systematic solutions for long-term prevention of issues.
• Manage process qualifications for new devices and tool installs using our in-house control systems.
• Manage and standardize tool sensors across all tools in similar toolsets.
• Analyze alarms/interlocks data to identify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues relating to degrading parts / vacuum leaks / power supplies / pneumatic interfaces, etc.
• Support manufacturing throughput goals as needed by controlling run-paths through manual preventing and releasing of tool recipes to optimize tool efficiency while taking into account inventory management, tuning issues, parts issues, etc.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 dynamic high-volume manufacturing environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• 5+ years of semi-conductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Anneal chambers preferred.
• 300mm Diffusion/Implant Anneal Experience highly desired. Familiarity with AMAT Centura and Vantage platforms and RF Systems preferred.
• Experience with 300mm RTP and DPN equipment management highly desired.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude highly desired.
• Ability to network and find impactful solutions to complex problems.
• Ability to use many different systems to analyze data and then utilize that analysis to drive engineering decisions.
• Understanding of Lean Principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, maintenance manuals, and have familiarity with a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work a high-volume manufacturing cleanroom environment in full cleanroom protective clothing for long periods of time.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
