Job summary

Kenmore Envelope Company, Inc. is seeking a die cutting operator to support production on the Richmond, VA site. Responsibilities include setting up die cutting machines, maintaining quality of envelope blanks, and ensuring production targets are met with safe, consistent operation.

The role requires standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm motions, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You may cross-train on other cutting equipment and assist with routine maintenance as directed by supervision.

Responsibilities

• Check work of previous shift for quality & correctness
• Maintain envelope blanks quality by following QC procedures
• Set up die cutting machines for each job with minimal downtime
• Keep machines cutting at optimum rate to meet production targets while maintaining quality
• Identify machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and correct in a timely manner
• Notify supervisor when maintenance/repairs are needed
• Keep die cutting area neat & clean
• Fill out production paperwork and pull samples
• Communicate equipment and job status between shifts
• Perform routine maintenance on die cutting machines as directed
• Place envelope dies back in correct cabinet slots
• Stand for shift, perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 pounds, overtime possible
• Cross train on other cutting equipment when possible
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Follow safety policies and procedures

Job description

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• 1. Check work of previous shift for quality & correctness and notify supervisor of any issues
• 2. Check and maintain the quality of the envelope blanks throughout each job by following company quality control procedures
• 3. Set up die cutting machines for each job with minimal downtime
• 4. Keep machines cutting at optimum rate to meet or exceed production targets while maintaining quality standards
• 5. Identify machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and correct in a timely manner
• 6. Notify a supervisor promptly when machines need maintenance/repairs above what can be completed by the die cutter
• 7. Keep die cutting machine and area around machine neat & clean
• 8. Fill out production paperwork and pull samples as directed
• 9. Communicate with outgoing shift and incoming shift regarding equipment status, job status, and any other relevant information
• 10. Perform routine maintenance on die cutting machines as directed by supervisor
• 11. Be attentive to placing envelope dies back in the correct cabinet slots
• 12. Duties include standing for the shift, repetitive hand & wrist motions, reaching with hands and arms, regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, and possibly working overtime
• 13. Cross train on other cutting equipment as time and production allows and as assigned by management.
