  • Starting pay range for this position is $39.65 - $43.71 per hour, as determined by level of experience.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing: Provide law enforcement duties, including protection of citizens and crime prevention, while maintaining security and preserving order. You may perform duties of the Deputy Non-Certified if assigned to the jail.
  • Effectively communicate to provide information, direction, mediations, and de-escalate situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Determine when there is reasonable suspicion to detain when probable cause exists to search and arrest, and when appropriate force may be used and to what degree.
  • Subdue resisting suspects using approved techniques of arrest control, defensive tactics, and weapons; resort to the use of hands, feet and other approved weapons in defense of self or others.
  • Purse fleeing suspects.
  • Testify and attend court and speak in other formal settings as necessary.
  • Read, comprehend, prepare, and process legal and non-legal documents.
