Denny's, Inc. is seeking a buffet cook to prepare and cook food to order while upholding Denny's standards of quality, timing and presentation.

You will maintain fry lines, refrigeration and storage areas, assist with stocking and cleaning, and ensure safety and sanitation in a fast-paced dining environment. This role requires reliability, teamwork and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and possess good communication skills.
• Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in work area.
• Must practice safe work habits and be in contact with chemicals and have knowledge of chemicals.

• Maintain proper fry line sanitation at all times, including moving, disassembling and reassemble of equipment as needed.
• Must complete all required paperwork, side-work, stocking, daily cleaning tasks and any other assigned duties in a safe manner before ending shift.
• Must be able to handle peak business hours.
• Smile and present a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to all safety standards.

JOB SUMMARY

Must cook food to order, prepare ingredient items, maintain proper sanitation of fry line, refrigeration, freezer units, dry storage, and do some stocking. Must present food to order adhering to company food preparation and timing standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive standing without breaks
• Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 21/2 to 3 feet
• Must have high level of mobility/flexibility
• Must be able to fit through openings 30” wide
• Must be able to work irregular hours and under heavy pressure/stress
• Bending, reaching, walking
• Communicating with customers
• Operating cash register
• Carrying trays of food products weighing about 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have some basic math skills including understanding of units of measure.
• Must have proper hygiene and maintain a clean and safe environment for cooking foods at company standards.
• Must complete all video training, anti-discrimination & anti-harassment training and comply with Denny’s nondiscrimination policies.
