Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Controls Engineer to manage and enhance industrial control systems for gas, chemical, and slurry operations at the Austin site. You will coordinate commissioning, provide engineering support, and collaborate with on-site teams to support control systems and vendor interactions.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, at least 2 years in controls/automation, and PLC/HMI programming knowledge.

• B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Immediate availability.
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI programming.

Responsibilities

• Support Taylor Commissioning of Gas, Chem and Slurry systems.

• Inspect SL1 and SL2 equipment.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors to meet Samsung standards.
• Serve as liaison to convey GCS needs to vendors.

Position Summary

The Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Controls Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, support, and enhancement of specialty and bulk gas and chemical Industrial Control Systems at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. This role includes the review of vendor design packages, the provision of engineering support, and the coordination of the startup and commissioning of newly installed equipment. The engineer will also collaborate with on-site Equipment Engineering teams and Operations & Maintenance Technician teams to support Control Systems for Chemical, Gas, and Slurry operations. Furthermore, this position will serve as the primary point of contact with equipment vendors for all electrical and programming related items.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Supporting Taylor Commissioning of Gas, Chem and Slurry systems.
• Support SCADA integration at T1 site for equipment monitoring.
• Inspection of equipment SL1 and SL2.
• Work with equipment vendor to perform system check and guide them for Samsung Standards.
• Work as a Liaison to understand GCS needs and convey that with vendors for equipment.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you'll need:

• B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of Controls/Automation Experience.
• Immediate availability.
• Understanding and Programming knowledge of PLC, HMI and Electro-Mechanical Sensors.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.

Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
