Concrete Technology Corporation (CTC) has been manufacturing precast and prestressed concrete products in Tacoma since 1951. We’re looking for experienced construction and concrete laborers who already understand what it means to work in a physically demanding production or jobsite environment. If you have experience with concrete, rebar, formwork, construction drawings, hand and power tools, or heavy industrial construction, we want to hear from you. This is year-round, full-time union work at one Tacoma location, with opportunities to increase your pay and responsibilities as you build your skills.
What You'll Be Doing:
Depending on your experience and assigned crew, your work may include:
- Placing, tying, and securing rebar and strand
- Assisting with concrete forms and preparation for concrete placement
- Reading construction drawings, measurements, and basic layouts
- Using tape measures, hand tools, power tools, fasteners, and construction materials
- Working around cranes, forklifts, machinery, and heavy equipment
- Moving, positioning, and handling materials weighing more than 50 pounds
- Performing physically demanding work throughout a full shift
- Working outdoors and in changing weather conditions
- Following established safety procedures and production requirements
- Working closely with experienced crews, leads, and skilled trades
Experience We're Looking For:
- At least 2 years of VERIFIABLE, full-time construction or concrete-related experience
- Experience using common construction hand and power tools
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work for a full shift
- Ability to follow construction drawings and verbal instructions
- Reliable transportation to our Port of Tacoma facility
- Willingness to work early morning shifts, with some shifts beginning as early as 3:00 AM
- Availability for overtime and weekend work when production requires it
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to pass required background and drug screening, including marijuana
- Willingness to join or maintain membership with LiUNA Local 252
We are especially interested in candidates with experience in:
- Concrete production or placement
- Precast or prestressed concrete
- Rebar placement and tying
- Commercial or civil construction
- Industrial construction or manufacturing
- Reading construction or structural drawings
- Forklift or heavy equipment operation
- Supporting carpenters, ironworkers, operators, or other skilled trades
Pay
$23.97–$24.90 per hour DOE
Schedule
- Full-time, year-round work
- Shift start times vary by crew and production needs
- Some shifts may begin as early as 3:00 AM
- Start times and schedules may change based on production (There is no set schedule)
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
