Experienced Commercial and/or Utility Solar Technician at Axium Solar!Role DescriptionThis is a full-time field-based role for an experienced Commercial or Utility Solar Technician in North-Central Texas / DAL/DFW Area. The Solar Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with solar system commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance. They will work on both commercial and utility solar projects and ensure the reliable and efficient operation of solar power systems.*Prefer local to Dallas-Ft. Worth and surrounding area. May offer relocation assistance dependent on candidate.Expectations/Duties- 50% local/ 50% travel usually 2-5 days. 45–55-hour work week is typical.
- Work will include break/fix service work, commissioning duties, Preventative Maintenance, and occasionally assisting construction crews.
- Company vehicle, laptop or pad, cell phone, shirts, caps, PPE gear, and test equipment will be provided.Candidate will possess their own hand tools.
- May work independently or accompanied, dependent on job safety criteria.
Qualifications- 2-10-years’ experience troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining commercial and/or utility solar systems up to 600VAC/1500DC.
- Basic network communication knowledge.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Valid Driver’s License with insurable driving record.
- Knowledgeable in Electrical Safety and Arc Flash requirements.
- Ability to perform physical demands of solar maintenance.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, heat/cold.
- Willingness to be away from home for a week at a time.
- Certified or willingness to become certified in OSHA 30 (General Safety), OSHA 29 1926/1910 (Fall Protection), and NFPA 70 (Arc Flash).
Highly Regarded Additional Qualities- Associate’s or bachelor’s technical degree with field experience, OR
- Certified Journeyman with 2+ years’ experience in solar field work
- Relevant certifications in solar, electrical, NFPA
- NETA experience
- MV experience
- Battery storage experience
- Drone IR and pilot certification
