Hybrid work options are available from Overland Park, KS or Springfield, MO offices. The candidate will develop models, assist with stormwater design, and collaborate across project teams to deliver impactful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) or IE certificate.
  • Minimum of two years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and HEC-RAS modeling software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks, immersing you in practical experience across engineering facets and programs.
  • Execute precise technical engineering calculations.
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for floodplain modeling and mapping.
  • Engage in design and management tasks for stormwater projects (channel stabilization/restoration, storm drain systems, culverts, water quality features).
  • Coordinate with project managers and teams to achieve objectives.
  • Innovate and introduce new ideas to projects, showing creativity and initiative.

Job Description

Join our Water Resources team at Olsson, a leading engineering firm actively seeking a dedicated Experienced Civil Engineer. The Water Resources team offers its clients a full spectrum of water services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. This position assists with generating ideas and creating designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform various tasks, immersing you in practical experience and exposure to diverse engineering facets, methods, and programs

Execute precise technical engineering calculations

Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for floodplain modeling and mapping

Engage in design and management tasks for stormwater projects, including channel stabilization/restoration, storm drain systems, culverts, and water quality features

Coordinate with project managers and project teams to achieve project objectives

Innovate and introduce new ideas to projects, showcasing your creativity and initiative

We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in working a hybrid schedule out of our Overland Park, KS or Springfield, MO office locations.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field of study

Must possess Engineer Intern (EI) or (IE) certificate

Exceptional problem-solving skills
