Job summary

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is seeking an experienced excavator operator to support heavy civil construction projects. You will operate large production excavators to perform mass and rock excavation and to load haul trucks, ensuring production goals are met.

Responsibilities include reading site plans, performing inspections, and upholding strict safety procedures while collaborating with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years operating large production excavators (e.g., CAT 395) in heavy civil, mining, quarry, mass excavation or large earthwork environments.
• Proven experience loading haul trucks and maintaining production goals in high-volume excavation operations.
• Willingness to perform laborer duties when equipment operation is not required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a professional attitude and strong work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 395 excavators to perform mass and rock excavation and load trucks for large-scale earthmoving projects.
• Read and understand site plans, excavation limits, grade stakes, and project requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and assist with routine equipment maintenance.
• Follow all safety policies, equipment operating procedures, and project safety requirements.
• Assist with general labor duties as needed to support project operations.
