Job summary

QXO in the greater Chicago area is seeking an experienced residential carpenter to support exterior trim, decks, framing, interior trim, roof sheathing, and related back-out work on active sites. You will work closely with foremen to ensure daily build plans are met and maintain safety and quality on tough outdoor job sites.

This physically demanding role requires independent work, strong craftsmanship, and the ability to adapt to varying weather.

Qualifications

• Residential carpentry experience including exterior trim, decks, framing, interior trim, roof sheathing, or back-out work.
• Ability to work with foremen and field leadership to meet daily build plans.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Experience using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential framing, exterior trim, interior trim, deck construction, roof sheathing, and back-out work.
• Partner with Foremen to execute daily build plans and maintain production pace.
• Execute work with high quality, efficiency, and consistency.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.

• Cook County: Tinley Park, Schaumburg, Bartlett, Lemont, Hoffman Estates, Northbrook
• Lake County: Mundelein, Volo
• McHenry County: Huntley, Crystal Lake, Johnsburg
• DeKalb County: DeKalb, Sycamore, Genoa, Cortland, Maple Park, Sandwich, Somonauk, Kingston

Work environment

• Overtime available based on production schedules

What you’ll bring

• Experience in residential carpentry, with specialization in exterior trim, decks, framing, interior trim, roof sheathing, or back-out
• Ability to work directly with and take direction from Foremen and field leadership
• Strong ability to work independently and produce quality work
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
