Job summary

CarMax is hiring a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet our safety and quality standards. You’ll work with a team in a modern facility, gaining hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.

A strong emphasis on health and safety, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential. The role offers an hourly rate of $23.28 to $41.94, with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for external hires.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Skilled at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and ASE certifications as required by state/local law.
