Cherry Bekaert in Richmond, VA is seeking an Experienced Audit Staff to join our firm. You will perform audit procedures across cash, receivables, inventories, property and equipment, payables, and other accounts, and propose adjusting journal entries as needed.

Candidates should have 1+ years in public accounting, a Bachelor's in accounting (Masters preferred), CPA eligibility, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of public accounting or related experience.
• Experience using Engagement is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master's preferred.
• CPA certified or eligible to pursue CPA licensure.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously (multi-task).

Responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures across cash, A/R, inventories, property and equipment, prepaids, A/P, accrued expenses, debt and other income statement accounts.
• Communicate with client personnel to identify and assess accounting processes, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Review accounting transactions and consider GAAP applications.
• Prepare financial statement footnotes and internal control observations and recommendations.
• Research fundamental issues using online tools.
• Perform other duties on engagements as assigned by supervision.

As an Audit Staff, you will:

• Perform audit procedures, over cash, A/R, inventories property and equipment, prepaids, A/P, accrued expenses, debt and general income statement accounts in client financial statements and propose adjusting journal entries when needed.

• Communicate with client personnel in order to identify and assess existing client accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Review accounting transactions and consider appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles.

• Prepare financial statement footnotes (on areas audited) and internal control observations and recommendations.

• Research fundamental issues using online tools.

• Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
