Job summary

Cherry Bekaert in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Audit Staff to join our team. You will perform audit procedures across cash, A/R, inventories, and other accounts, and propose adjusting entries as needed, while communicating with client personnel to assess internal controls and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of public accounting or related experience, a bachelor's in accounting (masters preferred), and CPA eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience in public accounting or other industry related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting; Masters preferred.
• CPA certified or the eligibility to work toward obtaining a CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures across cash, A/R, inventories, property and equipment, prepaids, A/P, accrued expenses, debt and general income statement accounts in client financial statements and propose adjusting journal entries when needed.
• Communicate with client personnel to identify and assess existing client accounting processes, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Review accounting transactions and application of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Prepare financial statement footnotes and internal control observations and recommendations.
• Research fundamental issues using online tools.
• Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.

• Perform audit procedures, over cash, A/R, inventories property and equipment, prepaids, A/P, accrued expenses, debt and general income statement accounts in client financial statements and propose adjusting journal entries when needed.
• Communicate with client personnel in order to identify and assess existing client accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review accounting transactions and consider appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Prepare financial statement footnotes (on areas audited) and internal control observations and recommendations.
• Research fundamental issues using online tools.
• Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
