Job summary

Armanino is seeking an IT Audit professional to perform IT general controls and SOX-related procedures for public and private companies. You will participate in client walkthroughs, evaluate controls, and document findings while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MIS/IT or related field preferred.
• 1+ years in public accounting, internal audit, or professional services with hands-on SOX/ITGC experience.
• Ability to identify internal control deficiencies and communicate findings to clients.
• Prepare and maintain audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
• General understanding of IT systems, applications, and business process controls.
• Strong communication, organizational and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Perform ITGC procedures including user access, change management, IT operations, ITACs and key reports for SOX engagements.
• Participate in client walkthroughs, request evidence, and communicate observations to the engagement team.
• Exercise professional skepticism in evaluating audit evidence.
• Identify and document controls and weaknesses in client information systems.
• Develop understanding of clients’ platforms, security, and software.
• Evaluate IT controls using Windows/UNIX, SQL, databases, and cloud environments.
• Assess areas of fieldwork and identify potential improvements.
• Understand client businesses related to engagements.
• Apply professional standards and firm methodologies in audit procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Primarily perform procedures around Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) including user access, change management, and IT operations, ITACs and key reports for Internal Audit support and SOX engagements of public and private companies
• Participate in client walkthroughs, request and evaluate supporting evidence, and communicate questions and preliminary observations to engagement team members.
• Exercise professional skepticism in the critical assessment of audit evidence
• Identify, assess, and document controls and weaknesses in client information management systems
• Develop an understanding of clients’ platforms, security, and software
• Apply knowledge of Windows and/or UNIX-based operating systems, SQL and other databases, cloud environments, application change management methodologies and security best practices when evaluating IT controls.
• Thoroughly evaluate assigned areas of fieldwork and identify potential points for improvement
• Develop an understanding of client businesses related to assigned engagements
• Understand and apply relevant professional standards, firm methodologies and ethical requirements when performing audit procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in public accounting, internal audit, or professional services, with hands‑on SOX and ITGC experience.
• Experience performing control identification and readiness assessments, design and operating effectiveness testing, walkthroughs, and evidence documentation.
• Ability to identify internal control deficiencies and assist in the documentation of management letter comments to communicate control deficiencies and weaknesses to clients.
• Ability to prepare and maintain audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
• General understanding of IT systems, applications, and business process controls
• Strong communication, organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage assigned responsibilities across multiple concurrent engagements, and meet established deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, or a related field
• Professional certification such as CISA, CIA, CPA, or other relevant audit / IT risk certification (active or in progress)
• Experience working in SAP environments, including exposure to SAP‑related ITGCs or application controls
