Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking an experienced Associate to join its Commercial Services investment banking team in Chicago. Commercial Services is part of our Global Services coverage team and provides M&A and capital markets advisory to companies that deliver mission‑critical services spanning facility, utility and infrastructure, architecture, engineering & consulting, and environmental services. Our Associates play an integral role in evolving and enhancing our client relationships and are active participants throughout the life of a transaction and beyond. Our Associates benefit tremendously from the experience and partnership they have with our Senior Managing Directors, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, and Analysts.

We will provide best‑in‑class Investment Banking training—formal and hands‑on—as you continue to develop your professional toolkit: M&A process management, business acumen, financial analysis, data analysis, soft‑selling and presentation skills, professional communication (verbal, written and virtual), negotiations, and more. We believe Associate development is critical to our strategy, and this role is seen as a career‑track position.

Essential Job Functions

• Work with senior professionals to support financial analyses, advisory transactions and highlight key takeaways
• Oversee working knowledge of multiple client sectors, monitor key industry drivers and assemble insights to support and enhance advisory services and new business development initiatives
• Review diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and live transactions
• Lead development of relevant marketing memoranda, diligence exhibits and transaction artifacts
• Anticipate potential deal challenges and elevate concerns through to team members in real time
• Drive creation of strategic frameworks, tools and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm
• Actively participate in client meetings and drafting sessions
• Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete group tasks more efficiently
• Build client relationships through effective dialogue with client finance and accounting teams
• Apply understanding of macro factors related to client sectors and investment banking
• Oversee “on the job” training, providing continuous, constructive feedback with goal of improving quality of analyst and intern work product
• Ensure all activity is compliant with Guggenheim Securities’ applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications

• SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment

Work Location

• Currently, this role is expected to be in the Chicago office at least 4 days per week.
