Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Waterloo, IA, is seeking an Experience Specialist for Waterloo Therapy Services. This 0.9 FTE role supports patient services at UnityPoint Clinic with a welcoming first point of contact and EMR data maintenance.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, guiding patients through charges and insurance, and maintaining accurate records in the EMR system, all while upholding confidentiality and UPH standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.

• Keep patients and families informed about wait times, provider availability, and delays.
• Address general inquiries and concerns with empathy, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Offer guidance on charges, payment processes, and insurance procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR system.
• Answer and route incoming calls, providing basic information as appropriate.
• Ensure all interactions and data handling follow confidentiality and UPH standards.
