Job summary

American Girl, a subsidiary of Mattel, is seeking an Experience Associate (Doll Hair Stylist) at the AG Retail Flagship in Chicago. The role delivers friendly and informative salon services, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment serving dolls and their fans, performing hair styling, ear piercing, and related salon tasks while promoting product knowledge and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Flexible retail schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.
• Willing to perform girl ear piercing services.
• Sales experience in specialty retail or service industry preferred.
• Experience styling hair, especially for dolls, preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approach, acknowledge, and assist customers promptly.
• Execute styles for dolls according to company standards and doll hair care techniques.
• Perform ear piercing services for girls and dolls.
• Training and certification provided for ear piercing; follow procedures and waivers.
• Conduct inventory of salon supplies and stock area.
• Participate in Salon events including Doll Hair and Manicure Day events, hair demos, and private birthday parties.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Share product knowledge and upsell salon services.
• Share information on store events and promotions with customers.
• Collaborate with co-workers to create a positive work environment and train new associates.

The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. This requires Innovation, Collaboration,and Execution from all who are a part of this division. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. The Opportunity:

The Experience Associate (Doll Hair Stylist) islocatedat the AG RetailFlagship Chicagolocation and reports directly to the Assistant Salon Manager. This positionis responsible fordelivering friendly and informative salon services,as well asthe flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

What Your Impact Will Be:

• Approach, acknowledge, and assist customers promptly.
• Execute styles for dolls successfully according to company standards and demonstrate proper doll hair care and doll skin care techniques.
• Perform ear piercing services for girls and dolls.
• Training and certification will be provided to perform ear piercing services. Trained associates will follow ear piercing procedure checklist, complete waivers, and review After Care procedures with guests.
• Conduct inventory of salon supplies and stock salon area and communicate replenishment needs when needed.
• Participate in Salon events including Doll Hair and Manicure Day events, hair demos, and private birthday parties.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Share product knowledge, answer questions, and suggestive upsell other Salon services and complementary products.
• Share information on store events, promotions, and activities with customers.
• Collaborate with co-workers to create a positive work environment and assistin training new associates.
