Job summary

Hunt Valve, powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense, is seeking an Expeditor Trainee to join our fast-paced manufacturing environment in Salem, Ohio. You will support shipping operations, learn data entry, labeling, unloading, and preparing orders while collaborating with internal departments and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

A high school diploma is preferred; 1–3 years in manufacturing is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Able to read work orders, packing slips, and purchase orders.
  • Demonstrates safety and quality awareness in a factory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support shipping: data entry, labeling, unloading, packaging, and order prep.
  • Move parts/equipment between departments; keep area organized and clean.
  • Drive a company truck for local deliveries as needed.
  • Operate forklift, crane, saw and related tools under supervision.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and maintain accurate records.

Job description

Hunt Valve, powered by Fairbanks Morse Defense, is seeking an Expeditor Trainee who can keep up with our fast-paced manufacturing environment .

Responsibilities

A qualified applicant will be required to support operations in the shipping departments at Hunt Valve, additional support may be required in the receiving & storeroom area as necessary. The applicant will be trained in the shipping department, especially in the areas involving data entry, printing labels, unloading incoming products, packaging products for shipment, and organizing/storing/preparing orders as required. Job functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform janitorial work around the facility to keep the plant clean and well organized
  • Support supply management functions and move parts/equipment for orders to different departments in the facility
  • Drive a truck to pick up orders and make deliveries locally
  • Using clerical skills, such as typing and navigating a computer
  • Working closely with the internal departments
  • Maintaining an organized and clean workspace
  • Using a forklift, crane, saw and other industrial machinery as necessary
Education
  • High School Diploma (Preferred)
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Required Skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to change tasks frequently
  • Proficient at understanding workorders, purchase orders, and packing slips
  • Able to use industrial machinery (saw, forklift, crane, hand tools)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
  • Must have a valid drivers license with excellent driving record (will drive company truck as needed)
