Job summary

Worley is seeking an Expeditor II to lead and optimize supply chain operations in Baton Rouge. The role focuses on coordinating shipments, expediting critical orders, and guiding a team to ensure on-time delivery and accurate inventory.

You will develop procedures, work with internal departments and suppliers, and monitor order progress while applying Worley standards for ethics and quality. Strong communication and leadership are essential to drive continuous improvement in logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Maintain updated records of order progress.
  • Ensure full compliance with Assurance, SQS, and TCC policies and all corporate and local procedures applicable to the role.
  • Support planning, development, and administration for projects or other operational requirements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the sourcing strategy.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal customers to meet defined objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive, professional, customer-focused supply chain service in line with best practices.
  • Support the development and deployment of supply chain policies and processes and ensure compliance, with particular reference to ethical standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of market industry trends within the area of expertise and communicate potential business impacts.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Expediting team on various tasks and projects.

The objective of an Expeditor II with greater leadership and experience is to efficiently lead and optimize supply chain operations within a company. This involves not only coordinating shipments and receipts, but also leading an expediting team, supervising daily activities, resolving complex issues, and making strategic decisions to improve operational efficiency.

In addition to ensuring on-time deliveries and efficient inventory management, an Expeditor II with greater leadership is responsible for developing and training the team, establishing effective procedures and policies, and collaborating with other departments to optimize material flow and improve customer service quality. In summary, the objective of an experienced Expeditor II with leadership capability is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the company’s supply chain by leading teams, implementing continuous improvements, and contributing to the organization’s overall success in logistics operations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Communicate with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Maintain updated records of order progress.

Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding invoice and payment status.

  • Assist in preparing and coordinating Expediting plans for projects.
  • Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation plans.
  • Monitor order progress and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assist in coordinating shipments and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Verify all invoice information, including costs, quantities, and extensions.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department in the billing process.
  • Coordinate or perform follow-up activities at supplier shops.

Track and manage suppliers’ work-in-process (WIP) inventory.

  • Propose and monitor action plans related to Expediting.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities at supplier shops.
  • Receive supervision from the Expediting Leader, Hub Manager, and Project Procurement Managers.
  • Able to plan own work and perform varied and complex tasks, with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Strong analytical and financial knowledge.
  • Versatility in analysis and problem solving.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Management of internal and external customers.
  • Thorough knowledge of the sourcing process, from purchasing and contracting through payment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in sourcing systems and digital tools.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and purchasing.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of e-sourcing tools and technologies.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and e-Sourcing tools.
  • Global experience in sourcing, supplier management, contract management, and negotiations.
  • Project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate principle-based leadership with strong business ethics consistent with Worley values.
