Job summary

Based in Park City, UT, Triumph Geared Solutions is a leading independent aerospace gear and gear box supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 200 employees. The Company’s key products and services include power transmission systems, integrated gearbox design and builds, airframe mounted accessor drives (AMAD’s), engine mounted accessory drives (EMAD’s), rotorcraft transmissions, turboshaft internal gearboxes, emergency power gearboxes, and large complex aero gears for both OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Park City, UT lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes.

Overview

The Expeditor will review and monitor production schedules, inventory reports, job orders and purchase orders to determine type and quantity of materials to meet production needs. The incumbent will expedite movement of material and parts and facilitates the flow of material to and from various departments, e.g., between purchasing, receiving and production areas to meet schedules; communicate with necessary parties to inform them of material status and expedite rush of overdue materials; provide materials status at production meetings; escalation existing or potential shortages to management; reconcile discrepancies with material received, such as quantity errors and damages; and perform related duties as assigned by the team.

Responsibilities
  • Compile and maintain material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities.
  • Read production schedules, inventory reports, job order and purchase order schedules to determine quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority.
  • Confer with department supervision and planning to determine overdue and due material parts and to inform supervision and planning of material status.
  • Maintain transactions related to inventory.
  • Compile and maintain records, such as material inventory records and production records, manually or using computer.
  • Coordinate with associates to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
  • May verify materials received, part numbers and check for discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.
  • May compare work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.
  • Perform frequent checks with the internal departments and buyers to ensure that delivery will be possible on the agreed date.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook and Word functionality.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal and customer service skills and be very detail oriented.
  • High level of organizational and planning skills. Ability to work with associates at a variety of levels within a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires the logic skills to solve problems of a systemic nature.
  • Experience with handling multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Knowledge of expediting / planning in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted. Team lift up to 100 lbs.
