Qualifications

  • AA degree or minimum of 60 semester units required.
  • BA degree highly preferred.
  • At Least two years experience supervising after-school or enrichment programs in a leadership position required.
  • At least two years experience working with youth and families required.
  • At least two years experience in a role that manages schedules, facilities, staff, or program development.
  • Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate or within 3 months of employment
  • Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test required prior to employment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out mission, vision, and values of Equitas Academy as well as the school priorities for the academic year through the Expanded Learning programming.
  • Co-construct the academic offerings during Expanded Learning hours with school administrators, network leaders, and Expanded Learning program staff, including external partners.
  • Implement systems for strong data tracking, including participation data and academic assessment data.
  • Progress monitors the Expanded Learning programs and proactively respond to the data in order to meet school priorities.
  • Communicate proactively with students and families to meet participation goals.
  • Become a fluent user of data platforms (e.g. iReady, PowerSchool, DIBELS, etc) in order to pull reports, analyze data, and synthesize information for school and network leaders.
  • Provide consistent feedback to instructors through observations and walkthrough data.
  • Support all after school programs so that they operate as a single comprehensive program.
  • Collaborates and plans a coherent intervention program alongside the Instructional Specialist and the Managing Director of Innovation.
  • Aligns afterschool programming to the school vision for enrichment offerings.
  • Progress monitors the outcomes resulting from enrichment programs.
  • Collects stakeholder feedback to make recommendations in the enrichment programming.
  • Implements enrichment program assessment to make recommendations for partnerships and internal offerings.
  • Participates in MTSS teams and facilitates student inclusion in expanded learning programs based on needs identified in MTSS meetings.
  • Acts as liaison to program partners, schools, parents, law enforcement, and other community agencies.
  • Leads all communication regarding ELO-P programs to parents and school staff for their site.
  • Records, inputs, and tracks data reports and ensures compliance with the organizational policies for their school sites.
  • Collaborates with the all external program partners to ensure alignment with the network-wide policies.
  • Oversee the aftercare program to integrate all Expanded Learning programs to operate as a single comprehensive program.
  • Coordinates the sharing of schools’ spaces and program schedules to ensure the equitable and organized use of facilities
  • Creates and nurtures a safe, positive and welcoming working environment for staff, students and parents
  • Maintains high behavioral expectations for students during Expanded Learning program hours
  • Maintains close, daily contact with school staff and parents to provide and receive student information
  • Nurtures respectful relationships with scholars, staff, families, and external staff
  • Develops and supervises Expanded Learning teams and staff activities, including staff orientations and training
  • May perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal of the school or the Director of Extended Learning
  • Oversee the aftercare program to integrate all Expanded Learning programs to operate as a single comprehensive program. Specifically, the manager will be

Job description

Equitas Academy prepares students for college, careers, and life pursuits, and inspires them to be champions of equity. We currently operate four Elementary Schools, two Middle Schools and one High School and serve over 2,000 scholars in the Pico Union Community of Los Angeles.

Under the supervision of the Principal and the support of the Director of Pathways, Enrichment, and Extracurricular Programs, the Expanded Learning Manager is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Expanded Learning programs. Responsibilities will include collaboration with the various expanded learning programs and program staff, as well as school staff and network staff.

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm

Academic Programs

Salary

Compensation starts at $72,000 and is commensurate with experience.
