Job summary

Responsibilities include chart reviews, blood pressure checks, sealants, fluoride applications, and post-op instructions.

Qualifications

• EFDA accreditation and licensed.
• Radiology certification; recertified every four years.
• CPR certification; recertified every two years.
• Child abuse clearance; re-checked every two years.
• Attends fraud, waste, abuse and cultural competency classes every year.
• Knowledge and familiarity with dental and medical terminology.
• English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and prepares patient to be treated by the dentist.
• Helps patient feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Takes prescribed radiographs for the dentists.
• Reviews health and dental histories with the patient.
• Takes patient’s blood pressure.
• Places restorative materials after dentist has prepared tooth.
• Places sealants, polishes and applies fluoride varnish as directed.
• Prepares operatory for procedures and assists four-handed dentistry.
• Maintains sterilization, disposables, and operatory cleanliness.
• Ensures OSHA compliance and proper infection control.
