Aspen Dental is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Florida. The role supports dentists with patient care, radiographs, sterilization, and chairside duties across a busy practice, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff training.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and Aspen safety requirements, including HIPAA compliance.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Provide patients with post-treatment oral care instructions.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Complete denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in laboratory cases.
• Perform quality intraoral health scans (under 5 minutes).
• Understanding of clear aligner process and teaching it.
• Take quality impressions and bite registrations.
• Perform expanded functions per certification (polishing, restorative, etc.).
• Maintain emergency kits and oxygen tanks.
• Order and maintain supplies.
• Perform various office tasks.
