Job summary

Corporation Of the Fine Arts Museums is seeking an Exhibition Designer to provide conceptual and technical expertise for artwork installations and exhibitions. You will develop floor plans, elevations, and drawings for temporary exhibitions and permanent rotations, ensuring ADA compliance and collaboration with curatorial and conservation teams.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and experience with design and construction documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required; strong preference for advanced degree (M.Arch or 5-year program).
• Requires four years of exhibitions/architectural/interior design experience, preferably in galleries or museums.
• Advanced Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite."

Responsibilities

• Develop and draft floor plans, elevations, and drawings for exhibitions.
• Prepare construction drawings and renderings under deadlines and standards.
• Coordinate with Curator, Conservator, Registrar, and other staff throughout design and installation.
• Prepare drawings showing furniture, cases, walls, mounts, platforms, and stanchions.
• Support art installations on-site to ensure design intent is met.
