Job summary

Labor Solutions, LLC in Minnesota is seeking an experienced exhibit builder assistant to support safe construction and layout of display components. You will use wood shop tools to cut, assemble, and test exhibit elements, while maintaining clear records and following drawings.

Responsibilities include producing cut sheets, building crates, and collaborating with teammates to meet project timelines. Overtime may be required; prior tradeshow experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and adhere to safety rules and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and legible records, including timecards, material charge-out lists, and cut sheets.
• Operate basic wood shop tools safely and proficiently.
• Assemble various elements using KD fasteners.
• Work with lumber, plywood, MDF, acrylic, metal, laminate, wood veneer, plastics, and others.
• Develop cut sheets to optimize material usage and minimize waste.
• Layout and construct shipping containers and crates within estimated times.
• Manage time to complete work within estimated timeframes.
• Perform test-fitting procedures for exhibit components.
• Collaborate with team members and follow supervisor directions.
• Assist with other assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Compliance: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by reading, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and guidelines.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and legible records, including timecards, material charge-out lists, and cut sheets.
• Tool Proficiency: Safely and proficiently operate basic wood shop tools such as table saw, jointer, band saw, hand-held router, drill press, staple gun, nailer, and other related equipment.
• Assembly Skills: Precisely join various fabricated elements using fasteners designed for knock-down (KD) construction style.
• Material Expertise: Work with a wide variety of materials, including lumber, plywood, MDF, acrylic, metal, laminate, wood veneer, plastics, and others.
• Cut Sheet Development: Utilize knowledge and experience to develop cut sheets that optimize material usage and minimize waste.
• Container Construction: Layout and construct shipping containers and crates efficiently, adhering to estimated times.
• Time Management: Manage time effectively to complete assigned work within estimated timeframes.
• Test-fitting: Perform test-fitting procedures for exhibit components to ensure proper layout and set-up.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members in a cooperative manner and follow directions from supervisors.
• Assisting with other assigned tasks.
