Job summary

• Verifies proper functioning of medical equipment to ensure patient safety.
• Participates in development and implementation of patient care plans.

Provides basic nursing care to patients with additional technical competencies under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.

Major Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety and environment of care programs, and infection control standards.
• Performs basic clinical procedures, including:
  • Incentive spirometry
  • Bedside testing (e.g., blood glucose testing)
  • Non-sterile dressing changes
  • Oral suctioning
  • Maintenance of aseptic technique when appropriate
  • Provides personal care to patients.
• Monitors patient conditions and promptly reports changes to appropriate personnel.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation of patient care information in the appropriate medical records.
• Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
• Supports and protects patient rights and responsibilities.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in:
  • Educational programs
  • Current literature review
  • In-service training
  • Meetings
  Workshops

Verifies proper functioning of medical equipment to ensure patient safety.

Participates in the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Pay Range: $20.50 - $29.42

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.

Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.

Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
