Job summary

UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center in Tyler, TX is seeking an Exercise Specialist for an evening shift on a PRN basis. The role involves supervising and educating participants, and helping implement individualized and medically integrated fitness programs.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, with BLS required within 14 days of hire. A preferred Associate degree in Health/Kinesiology and one year of health/fitness experience are also noted.

• UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 49-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.

Responsibilities

The Exercise Specialist is responsible for providing a safe and effective exercise environment for Olympic Center members and guests by supervising individual exercise programs, educating the individuals who are exercising, assisting with the establishment of individual exercise programs and assisting with the implementation of medically integrated fitness programs.
