South Texas Health System is seeking a Clinical Exercise Specialist to support patients in cardiac rehab, helping them meet health and life goals through monitored programs. The role involves designing and monitoring patient safety and progress through Pritikin ICR, while providing friendly, encouraging support.
Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Exercise Science, CPR, ACLS within 3 months, and CES certification is preferred. Experience in cardiac rehab and wellness coaching is valued.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Works with patients to support and encourage them to meet their health and life goals. Design and carefully monitor programs patient safety and progress through Pritikin ICR. Friendly, accommodating, and encouraging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of one-year clinical experience in Cardiac Rehab program preferred, with emphasis on wellness, communication skills, customer orientation, and ability to lead through demonstration.
2. Desire to work with a comprehensive health care team. Committed to a healthy lifestyle as a model for participants and staff.
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Recreation, Physiology or related field. Certification in CPR preferred. ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist (CES) certification preferred.
ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire or if hired with a current certification must keep current at all times.
