Job summary

Texas Health Allen is seeking an Exercise Physiologist for the Cardiac Rehab Department to support patient assessments and develop individualized exercise prescriptions in a hospital setting.

The role emphasizes safety, secondary prevention, and collaboration with RN staff to deliver high-quality cardiac care, with a focus on tailored programs and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or related field is required
• 3 months experience in cardiac rehab is preferred
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
• And ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days is required
• And CCES - Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist Upon Hire is preferred
• And RCEP - Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist Upon Hire is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient assessment on admission to the program and assist with the development of comprehensive individualized exercise program.
• Develops exercise prescriptions/programs tailored to the unique needs and interests of the client and in accordance with department guidelines.
• Provides instruction necessary for the safe and effective performance of exercise activities, and promotion of secondary prevention to individuals who are limited by cardiac disease to improve functional capacity and lower cardiovascular risk factors.
• Completes shift assignments for equipment maintenance, and all other tasks related to maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Documents all required data for Cardiac Rehab members according to department guidelines

Work location: Texas Health Allen- 1105 Central Expwy North TX 75013, Medical Office Building 2 Suite 2250

Work hours: PRN (As Needed) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 7AM-5PM or Tuesday , Friday 7AM-12:30PM
