Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehab, Contingent - Days to support cardiac rehabilitation services at our Detroit-area facilities. The role focuses on implementing supervision of exercise programs, patient testing, and education in a tertiary care setting.

The position requires BLS within 30 days of hire, a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and stress testing experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• ACSM credential preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• Stress testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supervises physical exercise programs for patients.
• Provides patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
• Plans and teaches exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen.
• Monitors patient's response and revises plan accordingly.
• Recognizes contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise.
• Responds appropriately to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals.
• Provides exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes.
• Ensures department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Prepares, develops and maintains various files, records, reports; schedules patient appointments as required.
• Provides oversight to department activities in the absence of the manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association
• Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred
• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
• Stress testing experience preferred
