Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Great Rivers is seeking a Chief of Strategy to direct organizational strategy and partner with the CEO and Senior Team on key initiatives. This exempt, salaried role may involve travel to affiliate locations and may include cell phone reimbursement.

The Chief of Strategy will drive strategic planning, cross‑functional collaboration, and effective change management to advance health equity and improve program impact across Missouri and partner sites.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Health or Social Work.
• A minimum of 8 years of senior-level leadership.
• Deep understanding of the Missouri health and policy landscape.
• Experience in upper-level management in a not-for-profit organization.
• Strategic planning experience and maintaining a strategic plan over time.
• Project management experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills / emotional intelligence with the ability to manage relationships with a diverse set of colleagues.
• Strong analytical skills and use of data to drive decision-making and to build consensus/support.
• Strong written, communication, and organizational skills, including a track record of balancing and prioritizing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders, influence others and manage laterally and up to ensure successful outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and data to create business plans and service proposals; ability to think “out of the box” to develop opportunities for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Executive Thought Partnership & Strategic Planning.
• Strategically advise and support leadership in organizational change to engage employees and achieve results.
• Partner with the CEO to engage the Board on priority topics.
• Lead annual and quarterly planning with the Senior Team to align with the strategic plan.
• Identify cross-functional opportunities to leverage strengths and address challenges.
• Promote open communication, creative problem‑solving, and urgency to meet goals.
• Oversee project management and initiative execution with clear accountability and budgets.
• Maintain organizational structure and processes to support growth.
• Period travel to affiliate locations may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
