EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF

The Executive Sous Chef plays a vital role in the company, contributing directly to SpaceX’s success and milestones by overseeing teams in multiple outlets, supporting workforce development, and focusing on high-end food experiences for guests and VIPs. This individual collaborates with the executive chef to oversee multiple outlets, ensure consistency, and coordinate employee engagement activities. The role requires versatile restaurant skills, creativity, and a proactive attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Set and enforce standards of operation across multiple kitchen outlets and service formats
  • Assist the executive chef and sous chefs with operations, team development, and departmental management
  • Ensure food safety and workplace safety standards are maintained
  • Train staff on work planning, safety, and health inspection protocols
  • Manage hiring, disciplinary actions, and staff well-being
  • Coordinate the opening of new outlets, especially VIP experiences
  • Maintain operations of outlets during ongoing activities
  • Achieve cost per head targets set by the executive chef
  • Support team recruitment, development, and retention
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree plus 4+ years of industry experience, or 6+ years of experience
  • 2+ years in a multi-outlet operation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Food Manager Certification
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
  • Culinary degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Experience in corporate settings
  • Experience with high-volume or batch cooking
  • Leadership experience with 20+ team members
  • Advanced knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety
  • Excellent communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
  • Experience with kitchen or dining area renovation/construction
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Possession or ability to obtain ServSafe or equivalent certification
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and perform bending, stooping, and lifting
  • Availability for all shifts, overtime, and weekends
  • Participation in leadership and development training
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Compliance with U.S. export regulations, including U.S. citizenship or legal residency
