Job summary

Cherokee Federal seeks a Site Director to provide executive leadership and full accountability for a 24-hour NYC DHS shelter operation, ensuring safe, compliant, resident-centered services across social, housing, operations, security, facilities, and administration.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive performance, partnerships, and timely documentation while maintaining a high-accountability culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public administration, business administration, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field required.
• Master's degree in social work, public administration, human services, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in homeless services, emergency shelter, or related regulated human-services environment.
• Minimum three (3) years of management experience with staff supervision, program performance, and multi-department operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for all shelter departments and services.
• Ensure all program services are delivered in accordance with the NYC DHS contract, OTDA regulations, and Cherokee Federal policies.
• Maintain supervision, coaching, and professional development across department leaders and staff.
• Lead preparation for regulatory inspections and ensure fire/life-safety compliance and incident management.
