Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Sr External Communications & Public Relations Manager in Hopkins, MN to lead enterprise-wide external communications and public relations strategies, strengthening the corporate reputation and elevating brand visibility. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field preferred.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communications strategies that strengthen CJ Schwan’s corporate reputation and support key business priorities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on communications strategy, messaging and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead executive visibility by developing messaging and briefing materials for company leaders.
• Identify opportunities for thought leadership and elevated external engagement.
• Oversee media relations as primary contact for national, trade, business and local outlets.
• Develop crisis communication plans and provide rapid-response communications support.
• Collaborate with Marketing to amplify brand campaigns through earned media and storytelling.
• Lead and develop external communications team and manage agencies and budgets.
• Establish KPIs and report on media coverage, sentiment and share of voice.
