  • Oversee story writing and development across platforms, providing timely and actionable feedback that encourages continuous improvement.
  • Develop and supervise effective workflows, strategies, and procedures supporting multiple news programs and platforms.
  • Ensure content consistently meets journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Create and communicate a clear storytelling vision that builds trust among reporters, photographers, and other newsroom colleagues.
  • Contribute on-air and multi-platform coverage during breaking news when needed.
  • Support evolving newsroom priorities and perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Generally 7+ years of experience in journalism, news, storytelling, or a related field preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet applicable driving requirements for the role.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Demonstrated expertise in compelling, community-focused storytelling.
  • Strong editorial judgment and a thorough understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws.
  • Genuine curiosity about the people, issues, and events shaping Las Vegas, Nevada, and the world.
  • A deep understanding of content strategy and how strong storytelling can serve audiences across platforms.
  • A coaching mindset and a passion for helping journalists develop their craft and reach their potential.
  • The ability to collaborate, communicate a creative vision, and establish trust across a newsroom.
  • Sound judgment and composure in a fast-moving news environment where priorities and deadlines can change quickly.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, early mornings, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite and drive as required to fulfill job responsibilities.
OUR TEAM:

At KTNV, you’ll join a newsroom united by curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to serving the community through meaningful journalism. The region combines big-city energy with distinctive neighborhoods, a thriving food and entertainment scene, and countless opportunities to discover the people and stories that make Southern Nevada unique. For a curious journalist, it’s a dynamic community with no shortage of stories to tell.
