Job summary

The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking an Executive Recruiter to lead executive level recruitment, sourcing candidates, and guiding state managers through selection and onboarding processes.

You’ll advise on CHRO rules and ensure compliance with federal and state laws, while developing nationwide recruitment strategies and partnering with agencies, boards, and commissions to attract a diverse leadership team.

Qualifications

  • This Is What You Need to Qualify: A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or Public Administration, Behavioral Sciences or Organizational Development/Behavior; AND five years professional level human resource experience in recruitment; OR Eight (8) years' professional level human resource experience in recruitment.
  • Equivalency notes: a master's degree may substitute for one year of experience; SCHRP substitutes for six months; SHRM/PSHRA-SCP substitutes for one year.

Job Description

The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) delivers the essential infrastructure, policy leadership, and workforce support that help agencies serve Oregonians every day.

What You’ll Do

In this dynamic role you will be responsible for managing executive level recruitment processes including candidate sourcing, professional networking, outreach, and public relations. You will provide comprehensive advice, guidance and assistance to State managers at agencies, boards and commissions targeted in the areas of executive recruitment, selection, hiring and retention of a diverse workforce. Additionally, this position provides advice on CHRO's rules, policies and systems and ensures recruitments comply with federal and state laws and regulations such as public meeting law requirements.

Highlighted work of the position also includes:

  • Development of nationwide and specialized recruitment sourcing strategies to identify and attract suitable candidates for executive level state agency positions.
  • Support candidates through post-hire and onboarding process to ensure the State of Oregon is implementing a supportive and inclusive hiring experience.
  • Collaborate with recruitment partners on a variety of complex projects that aid in the development and implementation of improved recruitment systems across Oregon State Enterprise.

This Is What You Need to Qualify
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or Public Administration, Behavioral Sciences or Organizational Development/Behavior; AND five years professional level human resource experience in recruitment; OR
  • Eight (8) years' professional level human resource experience in recruitment.

Equivalency notes:

A master's degree in any of the above listed courses of study may substitute for one year of professional-level experience.

The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification, awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office, substitutes for six months of professional-level experience.

Valid Certification as a SHRM Certified Professional awarded by a nationally recognized organization or PSHRA-SCP from the Public Sector HR Association, substitutes for one year of human resource professional-level experience.

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
