Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Vice President, Market Public Affairs to serve as the senior-most Public Affairs leader within the Northern California market. You will advance reputation, strategy, and business objectives through integrated communications, media relations, community affairs, and stakeholder engagement across the market.

You will report to the Chief Public Affairs Officer with a dotted-line to the Regional President, translating enterprise priorities into market strategies,

Qualifications

• 15+ years of leadership experience in public affairs, communications, or related fields.
• Experience advising senior executives and leading through complex reputational, regulatory, or labor environments.
• Healthcare industry knowledge or experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior Public Affairs advisor to market leadership and the Regional President.
• Coordinate Public Affairs activities across communications, media relations, community affairs, and government relations to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
• Lead market reputation strategies and visibility, including media interviews, stakeholder engagement, and executive positioning.
• Develop and implement market communications strategies that align with One KP priorities while localizing content for the market.
• Lead market workforce communications and change management tied to operational priorities and care delivery transformation.
• Foster collaboration between market teams and enterprise centers of excellence to support a unified One KP approach.
