Overview
The President serves as the chief executive officer responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the college's total operations, in accordance with Kansas state statutes and policies set by the Board of Trustees.
Required Education Background
- Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five years in a senior leadership role.
- Understanding and commitment to the mission of a rural comprehensive community college.
- Experience in program and outcomes assessment processes.
- Knowledge of and commitment to HLC Accreditation.
- Active community involvement, visible and approachable.
- Effective communication skills with faculty, staff, and community.
- Strategic decision-making abilities aligned with college priorities.
- Ability to motivate staff and promote high performance standards.
- Commitment to diversity and Students First initiatives.
- Knowledge of collective bargaining processes.
- Experience in budget management and resource planning.
- Experience in fundraising and working with Endowment Foundations.

Physical Requirements

Principal Responsibilities
- Serve as the College's Chief Executive Officer.
- Manage educational functions and ensure policy compliance.
- Implement approved programs and delegate responsibilities.
- Evaluate personnel reporting directly to the President.
- Develop budgets, enrollment forecasts, and oversee expenditures.
- Participate as a non-voting ex officio member of the Board of Trustees.
- Evaluate programs and develop strategic plans for growth and maintenance.
- Act as liaison with the Board, community, state agencies, and legislature.
- Prepare reports, agendas, and recommendations for Board meetings.
- Represent the College at conferences and community events.
- Build support among constituents and perform other duties as required.
