Job summary

Driscoll Children’s Hospital in the Rio Grande Valley seeks a Chief Medical Officer to provide strategic medical leadership, guide quality initiatives, and align clinical operations with hospital goals. The CMO will oversee regulatory compliance, mentor Medical Directors, collaborate with senior leaders, and drive patient safety, outcomes, and experience across the system.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from a certified medical college.
• A minimum of five years of direct clinical experience in area of clinical practice is required.
• A minimum of one year of administrative leadership experience is required.
• Experience in medical management in a managed care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to Medical Directors and clinical staff to support all clinical activities.
• Influences and engages medical staff to improve patient care quality and patient safety culture.
• Collaborates with DHS CMO to oversee clinical quality and peer reviews, credentialing, OPPE and utilization.
• Develops and implements quality improvement plans and responds to governmental or external inquiries.
• Oversees patient outcomes, safety and experience metrics with hospital leadership.
• Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and collaborates on care standardization and operational efficiency.
